Whether it's running, biking, rowing, KB swings, pull-ups, presses, squats or deadlifts, you have built an engine capable of doing it all! Beaverton CrossFit is proud to announce it's 1st Annual TRI-AND-LIFT event to be held at our location on Saturday, May 18th.
The event is composed of either same sex or mixed 3-person teams. There will be a "Triathlon" portion and a max "Lift" portion. The "Tri" will include a 5K (3.1 mile run), a 5k row and a 500/425 calorie bike (500 for mixed and all male teams, 425 for all female teams) for time.
Within each 3-person team, each athlete must complete at least 2 modalities (ex: run and bike). No team will be allowed to have 1 team member complete one entire modality (run, row, bike) alone. Teammates must complete the run before they can move to the row and complete the row before they start the bike. Teammates can transition however often they would like.
Each team will have a 5-minute rest period from the time they complete the "Tri" portion to the start of the "Lift" portion.
Once the 5-minute rest period is up, each teammate must pick ONE of the following movements: the Deadlift, the Back Squat, or the Strict Press. Each athlete will have 6 minutes to build up to a ONE REP MAX lift. The Deadlift will be completed from floor and the Back Squat and Press will be completed from the rack. The order will be as follows:
Deadlift, Back Squat, Press
Once each athlete has completed their designated lift, that will conclude the event.
